Benefits of being a night owl...


You remember that I wrote about the right amount of sleep? They linked health conditions to the amount of sleep and discovered that the best thing is between 7.5 and 8 hours. Check!

And now I found some other researches which just confirm my sleep behavour to be good...

One says that night owls are more creative than people going to sleep early. "Being in a situation which diverges from conventional habit, nocturnal types often experience this situation, may encourage the development of a non-conventional spirit and of the ability to find alternative and original solutions," says Professor Marina Giampietro.

But why don't we wanna go to bed? A small group of brain cells, called suprachiasmatic nuclei, emit signals to the body that synchronise the time of day. This biological clock runs hours ahead in morning types and two hours later in evening types. They say that the observed differences in creativity might have to do with the fact that evening people also tend to be more extroverted than morning and intermediate types

So it just isn't natural for me to go to bed earlier... And I blame it on biological grounds.
